Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI

In India by: Early 2009 Will cost: Rs 8-9 lakh

Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI

The build quality and appeal of the Fabia have already been acclaimed after its 2008 launch, but Skoda has even bigger plans to make the car into the hot hatch that it deserves to be.

The Czech car maker is all set to plonk in the 1.9-litre engine which currently does duty in the Laura into the Fabia giving it some much needed grunt in 2009. Already on the expensive side, expect the Fabia 1.9 to be even dearer, but will definitely be more fun and introduce a true supermini for the Indian enthusiasts.

Other Hatchbacks to be launched in 2009
 Renault Sandero  Tata Nano
 Honda Jazz  Chevrolet Beat
 Fiat Bravo  Fiat Grande Punto
Suzuki Splash/Ritz  Ford Fiesta / Mazda 2 hatchback
New Chevrolet Aveo U-VA  New Maini Reva
Nissan Micra / March  Toyota small car

fabia should hit the small segment cars market, but the price is too high, it should be between 4 - 5 lakhs, because people will prefer to go for toyota corolla or laura or embera by adding 1 -2 lakhs in it... | Reply
