New Chevrolet Aveo U-VA

8 Jan 2009

New Chevrolet Aveo U-VA

In India by: Early 2009

Will cost: Rs 4-5 lakh

Chevrolet's big hatch has been another one of those well-made but underperforming cars in India. The new car receives a host of changes for 2009. Viewed head on, the big Audish grille makes a huge impact.

New sweeping headlights coupled with all new bumpers make the car more attractive than ever before. The engines options, however, are expected to remain the same. The new U-VA will carry a better design, sure, but will this sort of a facelift help GM establish itself in the Indian hatchback space? 2009 holds the answer.

Other Hatchbacks to be launched in 2009
 Toyota small car  Tata Nano
 Honda Jazz  Chevrolet Beat
 Fiat Bravo  Fiat Grande Punto
Suzuki Splash/Ritz  Ford Fiesta / Mazda 2 hatchback
New Maini Reva  Nissan Micra / March
Renault Sandero  Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI

the engine is the heart of a car - UVA is a good car let down by a sluggish engine. In highways, it feels like you are standing still. It would be good for Chevrolet to upgrade the engine options which they are offering in GentraX Korea version - it would be a good offering! If GM thinks it can dump old technology in India, its mistaken...it seems they have not learnt from the FIAT story! | Reply

The Chevy U-VA is a good car and the facelifted model shown in picture looks great. No funky, it is only for serious sporty and smart people. | Reply
