Fiat Bravo

8 Jan 2009

Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI

In India by: Jan 2009

Will cost: Rs 6-7 lakh

Thoroughly Italian in its looks and European in appeal, the Fiat Bravo was set to take CBU route into India and act as a brand builder for Fiat.

After Fiat's major investments in its Ranjangaon facility, however, the Bravo will now be made in India - a fact that will bring down its prices and increase its chances of widespread success. Competing with the Fabia and bigger sedans, this fabulous hatch features brilliant interiors, lots of space and a powerful 1.9 litre multijet oilburner. If arriving in style is what you want, the Bravo will do it in spades in 2009.

Other Hatchbacks to be launched in 2009
 Toyota small car  Tata Nano
 Honda Jazz  Chevrolet Beat
 Fiat Grande Punto  Suzuki Splash/Ritz
Ford Fiesta / Mazda 2 hatchback  New Chevrolet Aveo U-VA
New Maini Reva  Nissan Micra / March
Renault Sandero  Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI

The price mentioned for Bravo might be wrong or it might not have most of the specs available in international versions. The entry verzion of Bravo in Newzealand is Rs 13 lacs. If a similar product is sold in India, it should cost around 20 lacs here, but I believe it might be comletely ordinary version if they sell at 7 lacs. The car has a width that is - 1750 mm, which is more than most of the width of large sedens available in India. | Reply

I wonder what must be the performance of that 1.9 ltr Multi-Jet Engine! The 1.3 ltr Multi-Jet is a cracker in itself. The 1.9 must be a road burner! | Reply

Friends your information is wrong..I contacted the fiat company employee who told me that it will be a CBU imported from italy and will cost around 25 lacs...So common friends who'll spend 25 lakhs and that too for a hatchback.. One can easily opt for a SUV at this high amount ....... But do not follow me ,,,,,,make your own choices.... | Reply

Don't skimp on the engine, or the spec, FIAT. Give us the 1.9 litre MJD with 150 BHP. If you do that, I would be happy to pay 10 lakh for this car. | Reply

get real guys; you're actually comparing a Fiat Bravo with a nano or a maruti 800. and what are you calling a small car? This is one thoroughbred which is all about the driving experience, with a 1.9 litre burner. This is what motoring is all about - not nano's and marutis | Reply
