Buying a Car? Get Best Deal

Volkswagen AG is very serious about its plans to settle in India, and it shows in the company?s heavy investment in local manufacturing.

The first car to born out of this commitment, and infact one of the first cars launched this year, is the VW Polo. The Polo has been on the manufacturing bench since May '09, meaning that Volkswagen is all geared up to meet customer demand from day one, however high it may be. The Polo is offered with a wide range of engine options ranging from 1.2-litre petrol to 1.6-litre diesel, making it the ideal car to suit the needs of most buyers. There are even two body styles to choose from - a hatchback which will compete with the likes of the Swift and a notch back that takes on some of the entry and mid-level sedans.

The price of VW Polo Diesel will be less than Fiat Punto. Since the length of the car is below 4 mtr | Reply

In the engine segment, present varients are not very powerfull, fuel efficient and refined. If Volkswagen introduce the famous 1.2L TSI gasoline engine and the Scirocco appearance the car will sell like hot cake. No doubt. | Reply

Nobody is talking about mileage in both Petrol and Disel.Guys anybody anybody let me know what is the expected mileage? | Reply

1.2L CRDi and 1.2 FSI are expected to yield good mileage. Not so the 1.6L FSI.The car according to a dealer is going though ARAI certifications. So VW would publish them once this is done. | Reply

Manish, both diesel and pertrol engines are of Skoda Fabia... so expect the same.... and german cars are for standars and not mileage. | Reply

I doubt it will be cost lesser than the Jazz considering the VM brand... anything between 5-6 lacs would be a good pricing policy | Reply

Whatever said about duties, we need to pay such an exhorbitant price for a 10 year old car ( Yes the current version of beetle is 10 years old ) and cant see a reason to own it at such a price. | Reply

it is 20 lacs keep counting taxes.any car in USA is cheaper then india,so before writting think and see facts. | Reply

I am sure nano, i10, and the likes if ever sold in US would be costlier there. So if VW is targeting indian market seriously, they should manufacture in India.the likes of 3 folds cost for a 10 year old model is not digestible. | Reply

VW the Best in it's class, Disappointing is its price but if VW can offer an Engine above 100 PS of power for 6 lacs it's the Best no doubt in it's class | Reply

VW Polo - hatcback. Well, people woud go for this car beacause of its brand image. That is the reason why VW has priced it above 5 lacs. Moreover when viewed from the front, it looks like a big car. So VW is offering a big car for the price of a premeir hatchback car ! The performance of the car should not disappoint the buyers because after all it is German engineering which means realiability, sturdiness and minimal maintenance. | Reply
