Buying a Car? Get Best Deal

The car which revolutionized basic automobile fundamentals two year's ago when it was shown during the last Auto Expo, the TATA Nano will be now available with a diesel powerplant.

The people's car will be even more of a lucrative option in its oil-burner avatar. We wonder what changes will be made to the components of the TATA Nano in order to hold the heavier diesel engine in place.

only the petrol one wasnt enough for tata....how can they produce such a small diesel under 1 litre and fit into something slightly heavier than autorickshaw...its chasis can not stand this..it doesnt even meet the crash norms....i think its bad move and ...think would be o world record for smallest diesel engine ever | Reply

The Nano has passed Indian and European crash test standards. It is certainly a lot safer than the Suzuki-Maruti Alto. | Reply

You never know. TATA's are now known for good cars on specs but very poor in execution. Sooner other players will release their cars to compete with NANO and nano will be killed. TATA always identifies a new market but some one else takes the market. Same thing happened in case of SUMO GRANDE -------great car on specs but poor execution.........it created a space and mahindra xylo stealed the cake | Reply

Tata magic also comes with diesel and CNG version. Almost the same capacity of 660 CC would be the power plant in to nano diesel. | Reply
