Honda inaugurates second manufacturing faclitity, pre-pones Jazz launch

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, with support from Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation (RIICO) today announced commencement of the state of the art press facility and powertrain unit at Tapukara in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

This is the second plant for HSCI in India and at present will supply body panels and engine component to the HSCI facility located in Greater Noida, as part of 'Phase I' of operations.

Speaking on at the inauguration of the new plant, Takeo Fukui, President and CEO, Honda Motors Company, said, "For Honda, Inida is a very important market and our faith in India's growth story stays intact."

Also announced at the inauguration function was an update on the Honda small car. The 'Jazz' at it will be officially known (Fit in other markets) will now be launched in the middle of next year. Honda has preponed the launch date of the Jazz. In the initial phase the Jazz is set to roll out from the Greater Noida facility, and later will be moved to the Tapukara plant.
