Winner - Honda City

1998 was when Honda made inroads into India with the City. Ever since, it's been the top seller in its segment. The most important factor for its success was the engine. Although the engines have evolved over the years, they retained more than one commonality, refinement and cubic capacity. From the brilliant hyper 16 valve unit to the current i-VTEC unit, the engines have always been the USP of Honda cars. But the current generation City is definitely more than just about its engine. The styling is as futuristic as it can be, and the new City looks smashing from every angle. The angular headlight, the ultra rakish windscreens, everything shouts to the future. The insides are a revelation as well. The City has loads of space and boasts one of the best legroom in its class. Bury the throttle and one can immediately tell why Honda engines are legendary. Incredibly rev happy and refined, the new i-VTEC unit is also the most powerful in its segment pushing out a mighty 118 PS. Performance as expected is scintillating, but what is also the talking point is that the City is also the most fuel efficient car in its class. The current City is also a good handler compared to its predecessors making it a good choice for the performance oriented lot. With an awesome engine, great performance matched with equally good mileage there's little doubt why it was Zigwheels car of the year.

The car may be great by performance, but the ground clearence is the worst of all cars and cost is too much for a mid size car. Are they mad to keep the same ground clearence as in Japan and US, atleast think of Indian roads , man. You are in In dia and design cars fro Indian roads, | Reply

loved everything about the car, except for the ground clearance...with the roads in india, you have to slow down to a crawl for every damn pothole or bump...not to mention family with heavy-weights and luggage makes it even worse! | Reply

Are you people doing some evaluation or just writing what people say. This is no doubt a good car, but obscenely over priced. Agreed that some parts are imported, but then why. Source it here and decrease the price. In this price one should get a civic - at least that's what u get in the US. | Reply

I have recently come across a news article that Honda is going to relaunch with certain facelifts during the coming festive season. Whether it is true or just a rumor. | Reply

There will not be any facelift, neither will there be any climate control. There will be alloys and fog lamps. Leather upholstery is suspected. | Reply
