A RACING POLO!

Buying a Car ? Get Best Deal

Apart from the new Polo which is set to debut in India in the coming months, Volkswagen also showcased the VW Race Polo, which incidentally will also be seen on the Indian racing tracks as the Polo Cup is coming to the country.

The Race Polo is as hot as a hot hatch gets! Okay, before you start drooling, here is the download on what the car packs. It comes with a 1.6 litre R4 common rail diesel engine that generates a more than startling 130 HP@ 4400 rpm and pushes out a gut wrenching 250Nm of torque between 1500-2500 rpm. Mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox, the Race Polo rides on 200/605 R17 slick tyres that are ready to take every ounce of torque thrown at them. The car also boasts of an adjustable Sachs race suspension, aerodynamic body kit with front and rear spoilers, side skirts and rear wing, which all are incidentally standard features on this particular race car.

With great power comes great responsibility and that is just why VW has equipped the Race Polo with a 6 point seatbelt, safety net for the driver, additional information display so as to make it easy for the driver to see vehicle details and of course there is the race brake system with four piston fixed caliper and ventilated 312mm front disks and 232 mm rear disc brakes.

Now, before you forget the plot and start wondering how much this variant of the new Polo costs, let me inform you that this model only resides on the racetrack, so when the races arrive and you are feeling rich enough, feel free to get your own team and ...well...happy racing!

Definetly a good car for Indian roads. I am driving Polo on Dubai and I am satisfied with the performance. I would like to go for the same in India too. But if VW wants to penetrate in Indian market than price should be below i 10. | Reply

this racing polo is only for the polo cup championship and not for public. There will be audition for the driver selection by Volkswagen. As far I heard, the cars will totally managed by Vokswagen racing team atleast for the first year. | Reply
